Meanwhile there were some companies offering technical helplines on 0800 freephone numbers – these being British Telecom, Waitrose, 02, Ukonline, Corel and Sony software.
Which found that the average waiting time to talk to a technician via a telephone helpline was one minute and 33 seconds – which resulted in over one third of users feeling very frustrated.
It is therefore very important when choosing software or a broadband provider that you find out how much their technical support phone lines will cost you before signing up.
